RE:Vios Timing Belt   Guys, I travel to-fro work at 27km/day. I work 25 days. That works out to be 675km/month. That's 8100km/year. It takes me about 10minutes to go home. It takes me about 20 to goto work because of the terrible traffic jam. I go back to home town to sleep everyday. LOL ... Maybe i'll take my kids out somewhere once a year but that's about it. You think my to-fro work of 27km/day is little? My wife one is about 18km/day. It works out roughly 5400km/year. The problem is that i have to goto Honda to service every 3 months or 5000km. Technically, i could service her car once a year but it would void the warranty. Once, the tech guy even asked me if my trip meter spoil already. LOL ...

Let me share my experience. I drive back and forth to office (20 minutes to and 20 minutes from) + return to hometown 4 times a year (400km per way) + weekend shopping After a year, my milage is 25K. Yes. I think 10KM/yr is too low even for going to office only.

RE:Vios Timing Belt   Thanks chips. 80,000km will take me 8 years. I'll probably change car by then.

RE:Vios Timing Belt   Usually not more than 100,000 kms for most engines but some manufacturers may specify as early as 80,000 kms. Call UMWT's customer care dept and ask (Customer Care Freephone Numbers: Peninsula Malaysia - 1-800-88-3333; Sabah - 1-800-88-3335; Sarawak - 1-800-88-3337). I would be keen to know how fast you get an answer since this is standard info.
