RE:fuel consumption    Alza/Avanza engine are same design as VIOS.

BUT, built material different ..
AND, sensor different ..

So? Horse power/ FC/ all different.

Not only enginese, car body weight, outline design aeromatic, driving style, tyre size all affected FC.

more info/discussion can refer to "my alza owner club" . google it :)

RE:fuel consumption   hi all,

after i tried my alza by driving on highway around 140km / hour,  amazingly it can reach 500km + for full fuel tank.  before i drove on highway, it was about 300 ~ 400km.  now it hits at least 400 ~ 500km depending on traffic / road condition.  in conclusion, must try driving your new car on highway, once it is smooth enough, then it will help in good fuel consumption.

RE:fuel consumption   it depends very much on how u drive. for example, dont accelerate (pick up). this really make the car consume more fuel. just drive it smoothly n control ur right foot, it will be better.

Yrs is much better. My Alza Auto, 4 adults, 80% town, mileage 2.5k km fc: 11.2L/100km or 8.93 km/L [}:)] I guess she is still very tight. Need more time to wear her out [:D].

well,a same car if driven in diff conditions also will contribute to diff FC. example is,u drive ur alza to work in the morning around 7am,and drive back in the evening around 8pm.condition is,u r driving in a cold n not hot temperature.i believe ur fc would be better as in this colder temperature, the engine will definately consume less fuel. Due to aircorn pump in less, cold air burns more complete than hot air. is u always drive ur car between 10-5pm.this is the hot temperature time of the day.definately ur car will consume more fuel.hotter day = aircorn pump in more frequent.hot air burn less complete compare n even make ur engine operating temperature to increase. conclusion is,driving in colder temperature use less fuel compare to hot temperature.so if comparing the same car as claim in 2 diff country...well,malaysia is a hot tropical weather country compare to japan which is a 4 season country where only quarter of the year is really hot. just my 2 cent.

the onboard meter is just a indicator. more accurate way is. 1. pump in full tank until the nozzle click. 2. then reset your trip meter to 0. 3. then drive as usual. 4. when u refill the next tank, again refill until the nozzle click. 5. check your trip meter for the total km u travel for that tank. 6. then divide the amount u pump in with the km you have done. this way will be more accurate.
