better dun unless u willing 2 spend a mountain in da future. coz high cam means u wil hav 2 put in adjustable cam pulley so u can advance or retard da cam degree setting. if ur wira gearbox is those cluth pump type thn u can try it as semi racing from Exedy(i think u mentioned dis brand) can let u hav better pick up but if ur car using clutch cable thn u wil in perilios life esp during traffic jam coz it is quite hard 2 step on it.
adjustable cam pulley rm 1xx to 2xx nia le :P

Thanks Slingshot.. your explanation very fruitful. At least i know what to look for..[:D]
Hi skng03, I will consider that.. initially tot of want to save some $$ by converting my manual to auto. [;)]
Will look around for 1.5 twin cam or 1.6 auto. if the cost is high must well change the car..

RE:Tranplant my wira 1.5 Manual to Auto - Questions
1) half cut means you have to buy only the half front of a car from the kedai potong or half cut shop as they call it commonly. The shop where the sell used spare parts.got it?
Twin cam is the type of mechanism of the engine. For normal Wira there is only single cam (SOHC = Single Over Head Cam) Twin cam means there is double cam(DOHC = Double Over Head Cam) Cam is the mechanical gadget which operates the opening and closing of your inlet valves and exhaust valves.
Twin cam or DOHC engines are much more efficient and powerful compared to SOHC engines...and also fuel economical.SOHC is like you alone carrying a 20kg rice bag and DOHC is like you and your brother carrying together the same rice bag.[:D]
2) I don't know..you have to roam around and get few quotations
3) If you transplant to the same one like Wira 1.5 auto it is a 3 speed auto gearbox.....very slow in pick-up and power. The worst part is the fuel consumption is extremely terrible. Just scrolla round this forum and see there are many comments on the fuel consumption about Wira 1.5 auto.
Wira 1.6 auto is a 4 speed gearbox....more power and comfortable and fuel consumption is better than 1.5 auto

RE:Tranplant my wira 1.5 Manual to Auto - Questions
Thanks Slingshot for your advice.
I don't understand
1) what is twin cam half-cut? or what is half-cut?
2) how much if transplant to wira 1.6 auto?
3) Why transplant from Wira 1.5 manual to Wira 1.5 auto is not advice-able? Just out of curiosity...
the reason i want to change is because my wife don't know how to drive manual [:D].
Will appreciated if you can help.. thanks again...

RE:Tranplant my wira 1.5 Manual to Auto - Questions
If you are thinking of upgrading from the Wira 1.5 manual to the Wira 1.5 auto, then you better forget the whole idea unless you are talking about 1.5 twin cam half cut.The process gonna be complicated as you have to seek for ECU and ACU(if I am not mistaken- the ECU that controls the automatic transmission) Normally they don't sell seperately.I am not sure in PJ if they do.But it is still a hassle.
The cost of transplant would be the same or maybe even higher and most shop would prefer to transplant the half cut rather than upgrading to the same Wira 1.5 auto.
Might as well you transplant the Wira 1.6 auto. Better power and much more comfortable drive. Better still if 1.6 Mivec but that gonna cost you a bit lah. Half cut alone is about 6k excluding labour.
