Some more 1.3 chasis, my fren said need to do a lot of body modification (anti roll bar, rear disk break etc) end up when u sell later it worth less, may just treat as 1.3cc price. u ask why not get a wira with 4G9x engine inside? i did what! i almost going to pay my deposit, i posted the car's conditions into this forum and wait for u guys to reply my post regarding that car, but no one replied me with any recommendation. After one week then bro Sean reply me said that car is not worth to buy. End up it been sold. But if take some time, i think sure can fine a good car right!
Ok just some opinions, if compare with these two cars which one would u choose? Both of it same price - RM20k
- Wira 1.6 auto last version millennium spec (Yr 2000)
- Wira 1.3 GLI aeroback (Yr 2001), Engine change to 4G91 Auto (but dunno how long the owner had change)
Hi Kfhor,
Like I say standard 4G91 don't really need rear disc break cos it is not that fast, even JPJ do not set a rules that it is a must. If you want to upgrade, convert 1.3 lower arm to 1.6 lower arm and anti roll bar. The second hand parts with installation only cos RM400 below.
If you just call like that to the half cut shop sure kena chop. For your info, auto 4G91 is cheaper and easier to get compare to 4G91 manual. If you really want to convert you better have some good contacts.
Friend,1 thing you should know, when you purchase a 1.3 wira you can trade in your 4G13p to the mechanic. Last time I trade in was around RM500 (my engine still in good condition, engine block inside still shinning, service on time for the pass 10 years) :)
Ok, 1.6 (4G92 SOHC 16V) or 1.5 (4G91 DOHC 16V)??? hmmm.... If both 20k, then I will go for 1.6 (4G92 SOHC 16V). The reason is becuase originally, the car is already stable. With a 1.6 chasis, I can swap engine later if I want to. Remember 1.3 chasis will always be 1.3 chasis. Malaysia rules mod engine not more then 30 percent from original cc.
Last thing, remember to add rear sit belts too, Malaysia going to start already.

Hi there KFHOR,
Well unless you own a 1.3 then you convert then is worth it, maybe. Buying a 1.3 second hand car, you need to check and change some major parts, repaint.. etc...
ok comes to engine. Have you found the right mechanic to do it for you already? how well you know him? How is his workmanship? Bro, installation for the engine and JPJ may take up to almost 1 month, providing the mechanic have time. On top of that, after installation, you need to fine tune some more.
By the way, have you really drive before a 4G91 manual or auto? The power is so so only, not as great as what other people write on the net. If you get a healthy 4G9x then is good 4 you, the performance will be good. If the mechanic cut cost and get you a cheap one, then the problems come. Be prepare when you don't have luck, you may need upto RM10k to buy engine, change some part, mod simple suspension.. etc..
Well, I am a 4G9x lover and I own one. If you convert now is not so worth it compare last time. What I am try to say is that this 4G9x is over "mark up" (half cut shop knows lots of people like to play this type engine) just check other engine like toyota engine etc, you will be surprise that some 1.6 DOHC engine is cheaper compare to this 4G9x.
Anyway back to that topic. Why not get a second hand wira with a 4G91 engine inside, cheaper and hasle free. Ofcourse you need to check as well but you safe lots of time and money, trust me.
One thing I like about this 4G9x is that the air-con is "very cool" some more digital. Really upset with Proton, until now most car they manufacture still anolog... sad case...
Haiz... you still have time right... go to more second hand car dealer and survey first, take your time.

Haihhhh...Dunno how to choose with just RM20k!
wira 1.5 auto only 3 speed, drive at highway with 110km/h the engine sound like going to exploded and its high FC.
If buy a second wira 1.3 manual and make a transplant to 4G91 auto its seem not so worth it compare to 2 yrs back, the halfcut from 2k plus up to now 3.8k and above, add-up the whole process gonna around RM6k.
wira 1.6 auto although it seem pretty cheep now, but gear box got problem. I heard people change to mivec 1.6 gearbox is more reliable. 92 SOHC engine can fit with mivec 1.6 gearbox? how much it cost? And i heard also the wira 1.6 last version millennium spec (Yr 2000) was improve a bit, roof would't berkarat lagi n come with DOHC engine. izzit true? Price around 20k. ok

RE:used 4G91 market price ~
Hi kfhor,
Since you have already made up your mind auto then go for it.
you will either go or 1.6 or 1.8 only. If budget allow go for 1.8 auto 4G93P. Not to say 1.6 is not good (4G92P) but some of my friends using it have gear box issue often. Everytime change gear box also a big issue. I'm suggest that second hand auto car should check carefully before purchase.
Good luck.
